Skyways Are Highways last Australian show

This Friday the 19th of July, Melbourne sunny punk band Skyways Are Highways are performing at the Grace Darling before they jet off to the US of A. Eli Hood and Angie Rose Brown make up the 60's inspired punk duo who will be leaving Oz to write and perform in the states. Joined by surf-rockers Going Swimming and CERES head on down after 9pm and it's $8 entry.

We The People release "Leon" single and video

Gaining a reputation for being better than the headliners that they are supporting are indie-pop quartet We The People. After the release of four singles and countless live supports with San Cisco, The Cairos, Boy In A Box and more, We The People have released a music video for song "Leon". To celebrate the release they are headlining their own show in Melbourne the 24th of July at The Gasometer. Playing before are Split Seconds from 8pm and entry is free.

Giraffage (USA) at the Liberty Social

Synth-pop electronica outfit Giraffage is coming to Australia and playing the Liberty Social in August. Touring on his own after following XXYYXX round Europe, the sweet sampled-pop of Charlie Yin will be heard on Saturday the 10th of August with tickets available from Moshtix for $15.

Warming up the decks beforehand are Leon Osborn and Clunk.

Ding Dong Weekender hosts Splendour Warm Up Party

For those not fortunate to make Splendour In The Grass this year (or even if you are) come dance your arse off with fellow party-goers at Ding Dong's Weekender as they host the Splendour Warm Up Party.

Live music from the Leaks is starting at 8pm on Friday July the 19th followed by the Weekender from 11.30pm playing music from Babyshambles, Klaxons, Jake Bugg, Surfer Blood and more.

Tickets are $10 on the door.

Progfest 2013 featuring Sleepmakeswaves & Voyager

One of the best celebrations of progressive music across prog, post, psychedelic, art rock, metal and more is Progfest. A showcase of fantastic bands, artists and producers at The Espy this years sees post-rockers Sleepmakeswaves and prog-metalheads Voyagers alongside Caligula's Horse, Mushroom Giant, Glass Empire and loads more.

On Saturday the 24th of August tickets are $24+BF from The Espy or Oztix. Full line-up so far is below with more to be announced.

July Days announce The Night Is For Hunting album launch

Melbourne indie-rockers July Days are launching latest album The Night Is For Hunting thanks to Tone Deaf. At Ding Dong Lounge on Saturday August the 10th is where you'll hear new songs, alonsgide special guests The Peeks and The Zanes.

They will also be releasing a new music video for latest single off the album 'You Should've Told Me'.

Hugo Race launches new album at Workers Club

With a career spanning four decades, seven continents, countless genres and musical explorations comes the latest release from Hugo Race (Nick Cave's Bad Seeds) and his Italian band Fatalists. Titled We Never Had Control this is a dark, confronting and a musical masterpiece which you can bear witness to live at Workers Club on Friday September 20th.

Clavians Video Clip Launch

As part of the Leaps & Bounds festival Clavians are headlining their own show launching new film clip for song "Body Grip". Not your average two-piece this psych-punk duo will be joined by alt-country Big Smoke, grunge trio Claws & Organs and electro Solaires for a diverse night of musicality.

At the Grace Darling Hotel from 9pm on July 20th, tickets are only $10 which includes a free copy of Clavians EP Cosmic Hood.

Mozfest - Blaze of Glory II at The Corner

In memory of Newcastle's Morrow Park Bowling Club which burnt to the ground in May this year is the announcement of Mozfest - Blaze of Glory II. Home to many musicians through the years, many mourned the loss of rehearsal space, recording studio, band room and general spot on the floor to crash out.

In remembrance many musos who benefited from its facilities are performing for one night only to raise funds to rebuild the morrow so it may rise up again like a phoenix out of the ashes. Performing at the Corner Hotel on Sunday August the 4th will be Brothers Grim & the Blue Murders, Mesa Cosa, Made For Chickens By Robots, The Book Of Ships, Mangelwurzel, Boatfriends, iOnic and Dj Joan Kirner aka Marieke Hardy.

Tickets are $15+BF and all proceeds on the night go to the Morrow rebuilding fund.

Second chance for Powder Monkey fans at The Hemensley Cup

The Powder Monkeys 10th Anniversary gig sold out in under 4 hours of tickets being released but here's a second chance to those who missed out. The Hemensley Cup which kicks off this Sunday on July 21st at Victoria Park oval. Is playing host to a halftime gig with The Powder Monkeys performing along with special guests. The only fee being a gold coin donation it all kicks off (literally) at 11am in Abbotsford.

This is a chance to honour Tim Hemensley with a fun-filled Sunday of footy and music.

All The Colours announce Shame launch date

Self proclaimed 'sauve' and 'erudite' gentlemen All The Colours are releasing their latest single titled "Shame", off their unreleased debut album. Written by frontman Josh Moriarty (of Miami Horror) and inspired by a young Michael Jackson the single is playful and unabashed.

Come hear the new material with All The Colours along with special guests Dru Chen at The Workers Club on August the 24th.

Adam Eaton launches 'Catastrophes' in July

Singer, songwriter and all around troubadour Adam Eaton is celebrating the launch of debut album Catastrophes. "Wait Out", the first single off the album has been garnering nationwide airplay and attention since its debut in May and now is your chance to hear it all live.
